What to wear to a Winter Wedding
Winter weddings are becoming more and more popular for many reasons. First things first, they’re often cheaper than summer months, they give you the opportunity to have roaring open fires and glittery centre-pieces and, if you’re lucky, you might even have a white wedding full of fluffy snow.
Twinkling fairy lights, flickering candles and metalics make for wonderful photos too. But what to wear to a winter wedding? Well if you’re the bride, you can wrap up in long-sleeved gown and perhaps a faur fur bolero or stole. I love this dress from Caroline Castigliano, the lace long sleeves and faux fur headband complete a winter wedding look.
What about if you’re the mother of the bride or a guest at a winter wedding? Well Kaleidoscope asked me that exact question and if I’d like to piece together an outfit from their #WinterWedding range.
Kaleidoscope have a fantastic range of fashion and accessories and have a whole section of their website dedicated to winter weddings. So it was easy to find a complete outfit that I would like to wear to such an occasion. I started with the dress and decided that lace is always a timeless classic. I opted for blackc(slimming!) as I think as long as you brighten-up with your accessories, in the winter, that’s totally fine for a wedding. My lace ruffle dress is in their sale for a bargain £25.50 so snap it up! Here’s a really similar one and I love the red!
As it’ll be crisp and cold, I knew I’d want to wrap up warm with some faux fur, so chose this gorgeous jacket with 3/4 bell sleeves. Love it! It’s my favourite part of the outfit actually and I think perfect to wear to a beautiful occasion.
For shoes, I wanted to tie in with the cream in the jacket, so went for these amazing shoes that have a faux snakeskin and suede effect in shades of mink and copper. I love those tones together. And have you ever had that issue of not having the right handbag to go with your outfit? Well you can complete the look at Kaleidoscope, with this matching clutch bag. I love it and really pulls the outfit together.
I wore my dress with opaque tights, as in winter, I’m not brave enough to bear my legs.
If it’s seriously chilly out, I would also add a layer and picked this lovely fluffy wrap cardigan which is an ivory colour and currently in the sale, so snap it up!
So there it is, my idea of what to wear to a winter wedding – being careful not to upstage the bride ;-).
Are you going to a winter wedding? What will you wear?
