An Autumnal Oxfordshire Wedding in Eynsham Hall

Last month we were privileged and excited to attend the gorgeous Kirsty and Lee’s Wedding at Eynsham Hall, Oxfordshire. And what a day it was!

We decided to make a weekend of it and drove down from Manchester on Friday night for a 2-night stay. The venue was incredible and certainly gave the wow-factor when driving up the impressive drive-way to the grand reception. We were instantly excited for what we knew would be a weekend of laughter, joy and celebration – the wedding of the beautiful Kirsty and Lee.

October is often a great wedding month for the UK, as it’s not too cold and you can often luck-out with the weather, which we did! There were clouds in the sky which gave good shade and a nice tone to photographs (ideal scenario!) and it was still warm enough to be outside and enjoy the stunning grounds of Eynsham Hall.

Kirsty & Lee became husband and wife during a touching church ceremony in Bicester and all the guests shared a coach back to the venue, where we were greeted with champagne and canapés and guided out onto the terrace. Eynsham Hall is a grade 2 listed building with wonderful historic features combined with a boutique modern-feel…it really works! The bar is absolutely stunning and who doesn’t love a neon light over a gothic-style marble fireplace?!

After drinks and photos on the terrace, we head inside where we waited to be seated. And the hall for the Wedding Breakfast was stunning. Kirsty (and Lee) did such a great job of dressing the space to look chic with a tough of vintage. And the food was divine…

Chicken liver pate with chutney – Lamb Rump or Vegetable strudle for the veggies with roast potatoes and veg – Apple and Blackberry crumble with white chocolate

All washed down with wine and champagne for toasts! Lucky us!

After funny and moving speeches (one of my favourite parts of weddings), we retired back to the bar for more drinks and a refresh whilst the staff of Eynsham Hall got the dance-floor ready…After the romantic first dance, we all got our boogy on! I love watching everyone dance at weddings – people really let go (including us)!

Then came the veritable feast of cheeses and chutneys for the evening buffet…timed perfectly, just as we were all feeling the effects of the bubbles. More dancing ensued, well into the early hours before we retired to the bar for night-caps and people slowly made their way up to bed. It was so nice that we could all stay-over too, I think this makes such a big difference and takes the worry and thought out of getting home.

What a stunning, moving, touching, fun day the wedding was – I’m so glad I got to be a part of it and witness two people who are incredibly in love, join their lives together. They really will have a happy and full life together and I can’t think of a lovelier couple.

(Needless to say, I had a bit of a sore head the next day and the full English fry-up went some way to aid my recovery!).

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Pinnell!
