My Wanderlust 2017
There’s no denying it, 2016 has been a difficult year for this crazy world we live in. Lots of changes and lots of uncertainty. But sometimes, when things seem so bad, we have to remember that there is so much good in the world and that we should strive to see as much of the world as possible. So it’s got me thinking about my Wanderlust 2017 and where I’d like to go next year.
This is just a dreamy post on a winter’s day, so why not come along with me…
My Wanderlust 2017 list

I adore Canada and have been to Toronto before. I love that it’s a bustling city that is on the water. The east end of town houses The Beaches, so you’ve got the best of both worlds – city and beach. Plus Canadians are lovely and the food out there is insane! (I put on 10lbs on my last trip…no joke!). I’d like to get to know the city more.

I think this is on lots of people’s Wanderlust lists because it’s so unique and epitomises tranquility and relaxation. Before I had a baby, I didn’t think it would appeal that much. The hubby and I get restless when on holiday and like to explore. But now I’m a mum and realise the absolute beauty of DOING NOTHING, the Maldives suddenly appeals a lot more. I dream of waking up, to those sea views, dipping my toes in the crystal clear waters and then heading off for a massage on the beach. Pretty sure we’d need to arrange for a babysitter though!

Cambodia ignites the traveller in me. If I was to go back in time, I definitely would have taken a gap year before starting university and done a bit more travelling. Like proper travelling. Cambodia is one of those places that I think there’s no where else like it on earth and after a troubled recent history, still gets overlooked as a destination.
Brooklyn, New York  – Image source
Most people know Manhattan and like me, love the place. In fact I got engaged in New York City and it holds a special place in my heart. But I’ve never crossed the Brooklyn Bridge! When I first went to NYC, Brooklyn was a bit of a no-go area and so I stood at the end of the bridge, looking over, turned around and head back to the busy sidewalks of Manhattan. But now Brooklyn is a destination in itself and I’d happily live in one of the famous “brown-stones” houses that line the leafy neighbourhoods.

Another sun, sea and sand destination that gets more and more appealing every year to me. The carribbean has always appealed to me, I love the culture, the people and of course the food! The white sands and clear waters look so dreamy and are definitely on my wanderlust 2017 list. I would imagine it’d be a great place for a family holiday too as children are a big part of their culture.

One of our favourite types of holidays is a city-break. We like to have plenty to do and to see lots of sights. I often think a country’s city tells so much about the country itself and often the history. European cities are the most beautiful and historical too and we’re spoiled for choice on this side of the world. But one place I’ve never been in Sweden and I’d love to visit their capital city. Again it’s on the water, with 14 islands and 50 bridges and it’s only a couple of hours flight from the UK. I definitely think we can make this one happen in 2017.
Have you been to any of the places on my Wanderlust 2017 list? Where is on your list?
