Shopping for the hubby
Every now and then, I feel that the hard-working hubby of mine deserves a treat…a present. But for the man who has everything, I never really know what to get him. So we often turn to shopping for clothes and it got me to thinking, it’s coming up to Autumn now and perhaps he could do with a wardrobe refresh (I can say this as I know he’ll never read this post!).
So when the guys at Jacamo asked me to have a look at their new season collection, I thought I’d pull together a few of my favourite bits for fellas…as we can’t forget about them can we? Jacamo is a brand I’ve certainly heard of and have seen the adverts for, but not one I’ve personally shopped at before, so I was intrigued to see what they offered and the price-points…
Autumn Fashion for Men
Being that he owns an inbound marketing agency, the hubby likes to look smart but not over-dressed at work and often needs to go from coffee meetings in the day, to post-work drinks or events. So I thought I’d pull together the ultimate day-to-night look for him. Let me know what you think…
I love these Joe Brown One for the Weekend Trousers good colour, good shape…
I think during the day, in the office a nice smart but casual polo-shirt is always a winner. This dark blue Original Penguin Earl Polo would go really well with the weekend trousers…
It’s not all that warm in Manchester at the moment (definitely not Summer anymore!), so a light jumper would be needed to complete his day look. This Original Penguin Lambswool Jumper is so lovely! Soft, smart and I love the colour – think it’d balance nice with the autumnal brown and dark blue of this look. Plus a round-neck always looks good with a polo shirt collar pulled through.
Taking the look through to evening
But what about when he has to go straight to a post-work meeting (or a few beers!?)? I think you can’t beat a lovely blazer on a man and it can strike the perfect balance between smart, without being overdressed. I think you can team a blazer with chinos or jeans and herringbone is my favourite pattern.
This Black Label Herringbone Check Blazer is dark brown but has a blue running through it in the check, so would work really well with the weekend trousers and the polo shirt, as well as the grey jumper if needed. Hubby could throw this over his daytime look, to instantly take him through to evening, don’t you think?
I think it’s always good to keep a blazer like this at hand, as it’d also work with a smarter look, for an impromptu client meeting!
I didn’t realise Jacamo did footwear and they do all the top brands. My hubby likes Adidas Sambas and often wears these to work, but I think a good smart-casual choice would be these Dune Bransson Casual Brogue Trainers , which again have an accent of blue in them, to pull the whole look together.
So what do you think? I don’t usually do a Male Autumnal Look Book, but quite enjoyed dressing-up my hubby…what look would you go go for?
