The Perfect White Shirt with Karen Millen

I’m by no means a fashion blogger, but I do love fashion and I do blog! So every now and then on HollyGoesLightly, I like to talk about my favourite clothes brands, designers and looks. As we’re only a few days away from heading off to Paris, I’ve been day-dreaming about my ultimate Parisian look…

A little while ago, I received the Karen Millen Spring/Summer 2017 Lookbook in my inbox and what struck me was how chic, simple and classic the looks were but with a twist. The British brand have concentrated on timeless appeal with unique detailing amongst their collection.

The Perfect White Shirt

This season, Karen Millen have reinvented the wardrobe staple – the classic white shirt, through their ‘White Shirt Project’ and ever since I’ve seen the looks, I’ve been day-dreaming of prancing around the streets of Paris, wearing my favourite out of the collection. But before I reveal which shirt is the perfect white shirt for my trip to Paris, let’s look at Karen Millen’s collection a little more closely…

Unique Detailing

I think we all own a white shirt, whether it’s for work, to team with a pair of jeans, or for when we want to pull together that city-chic look. But Karen Millen have looked at the classic design and put their own twist, through unique detailing: ruffles, pleating, volume and pussybows.

The Karen Millen Lookbook sees the white shirts teamed with pleats, graphic prints, whites and colours, trousers and skirts – showing the versatility of this wardrobe staple and that it’ll take us through from the dull early Spring months, into the full force of British summertime.

My Standout Piece

So which white shirt is my favourite from the collection? Well it just has to be the White Ruffle Jacquard Blouse! The oversized soft ruffles and semi-sheer detailing, create amazing texture all tied-up perfectly with a pussybow at the neck – perfect to complete by London to Paris look don’t you think?

With the weather being as it is now, I’d team mine with a little black woolen pencil skirt, opaque black tights, a contrast leopard print shoe (kitten heel) and a long soft, waterfall cardigan. But in the summer months, I can see me wearing this perfect white shirt with a red leather sandal and denim culottes.
