New Year’s Eve Fireworks at the Horse and Jockey Chorlton
This New Year’s Eve brought a few firsts for us: the first one in our new home, the first one as a married couple and the first one at the Horse and Jockey Chorlton. And boy did they put on a show!
We decided on a fairly relaxed one this year, as so much has been going on lately, with so many changes, that it suited us to stay local. So we had some friends round for Kir Royales and good chat. We talked about everything from fitness to twerking! Then hubby lay on a fantastic spread of Spaghetti Bolognese and garlic bread to line the stomachs and we were away.
We watched some classic New Year’s Eve telly and at about 11pm walked along the road to the Horse and Jockey. They always host such nice events for locals, laid-back but fun…just what we needed. We also found out they would be putting on a firework display at midnight, so we couldn’t wait. And it didn’t disappoint!
Everybody gathered out on the terrace and spilled out over the green awaiting the spectacular light show. With hundreds of people shouting the midnight countdown, the fireworks began and were bloody brilliant! They must’ve gone on for over 5 minutes…the Horse and Jockey really did everyone proud.
Check these out!
It was a really lovely night and the best thing was, we could walk home and be tucked-up in front of the fire with a Baileys within minutes.
(My dress is from the Monsoon sale and is stunning – the photos do not do it justice – it’s embroidered and sparkly).Â
What did everyone else do this New Year’s Eve?
