#MarriedMay – Days 5 to 10
Continuing on with the #MarriedMay Wedding posts, here’s my days 5-10.
It’s such a nice task, as it’s a lovely excuse to think back to our wedding day, just over a year ago now and remember how bloody amazing it was! All the little (and big) elements that went towards what has been the best day of our lives so far.Â
Day 5 – Beauty Must Have – I chose the white eye-liner. Bit of a random choice you might say, but my good friend (and make-up artist) Lucy said that a little bit on the inner rims of your eyes, keep them bright! And she was right 🙂
Day 6 –Â Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter? – We chose Spring for our wedding as we’d hoped it would be sunny (which it was), not too hot and most people wouldn’t be on holiday! As it was a city wedding in London, it felt like the right time of year too! Plus we got some gorgeous flowers that were all in season, like these…
Day 7 – Favourite Flower – I chose the peony. We had so many beautiful flowers at our wedding, all in whites, creams, greens and baby blues, to go with our wedding colour scheme (tiffany blue and silver). Peonies are my favourite flower, but weren’t in season so were very expensive. I treated myself to a few in my bouquet though 🙂
Day 8 –Â Aspects of DIY – We did a few bits ourselves, as we really wanted to stamp our personalities on the day and didn’t want things too perfect looking. One of the things I always struggled with was favours. I often think they get wasted and can be really expensive and not appreciated! And I think paper name places are boring (sorry)! So I came up with an idea for the name places and guests could also take them home. Slate hearts! I wrote everyone’s name on them in white-chalk pen and wrote a little message on the other side. People loved them and I see them hanging-up in my friends houses to this day.
Day 9 –Â The Dress – Mine was lace, strapless with a sweetheart neckline. I loved the soft layered lace which gathered at the hip to create a really flattering silhouette. I felt so good in it and really comfortable all day. The designer is White Rose. I believe it’s timeless and will still look good in years to come (maybe I’ll have a daughter that might want to wear it one day!). I had an ivory coloured feather bolero, which I wore at some points during the day.
Day 10 – The Shoes – I’ve never been one of those women that was that bothered by designer shoes. I love shoes, don’t get me wrong! But I’ve never coveted a pair of Jimmy Choos. So when I saw these glittery bad boys in Next for £35.99, I snapped them up 🙂 J’adore!
So there’s my days 5-10 of #MarriedMay. Are you doing it too? If so, share with me!
