#MarriedMay – Days 11 to 14

Continuing on in my series of #MarriedMay posts, here comes days 11 to 14. If you’re not sure what #MarriedMay is all about, I explain it in a post and have my first set of photos that kick-off this series and then days 5-10 are here.

Day 11 – The Venue – we chose The In & Out Club on St James Square, London. We adored this venue from the off-set, as it was everything we imagined when thinking of a London wedding. It was also somewhere that we could take over exclusively, meaning we had the place to ourselves all day, there were plenty of rooms to use for different things and bedrooms for our guests to stay over in. I really REALLY recommend this place. marriedmay day 11 venue hollygoeslightly

Day 12 – My parents on MY wedding day! I don’t have any photos to hand from my parents wedding. They got married back in the early 90s and I was their bridesmaid 🙂 They didn’t have a professional photographer or anything and there’s a few snaps and a short video from their special day. My mum didn’t want a big wedding and my dad surprised her with inviting all the family :-). But here is a lovely shot of them on our wedding day, that I just adore, as they look so happy!

Day 13 – Favourite Wedding Magazine – now I love wedding mags and couldn’t get enough of them in the lead up to our big day. I’d buy them all, every month, on release date! Yup! But I did particularly like Wedding Ideas Magazine, as it’s fortnightly (amazing!) and very approachable to weddings of all budgets and types. I particularly loved the Real Weddings section and would flick straight to those pages every issue. So when our wedding was featured on those very pages, a few month after we got married, it was like a dream come true.

Day 14 – Flavour of the cake – we were lucky enough that hubby’s cousin is the MOST AMAZING baker ever and incredibly talented at icing. She kindly made our wedding cake and cake-table spread as our wedding present! This was such a touching thing, saved us lots of money and meant we had exactly what we wanted. Our wedding cake, was a fairly simple 3-tiered affair with white icing and silver ribbon made from icing. This went with our theme. Each tier was a different flavour: Chocolate & Rum, Vanilla Sponge and Carrot Cake. Mmmm….
