6 Winter Outfit Ideas
Continuing on my style vibe of late, this month I’ve been really finding my winter fashion groove. In the past few years, I’ve tended to throw on a pair of jeans and a warm jumper and that’d be me for the next 4 months. But this year, I wanted to find my winter style and enjoy wearing some winter fashion pieces. I’ve created a video of 6 winter outfit ideas, that I’ve pieced together from Matalan’s Women’s winter fashion, in store at the moment… which winter look is your fave?

Here are the details of my 6 winter outfit ideas, in case you want to shop them too:
OUTFIT 1 – The dress (£18) – size 12
This dress is so wearable and I can see it lasting me through to the Spring, when 100 denier opaque tights are no longer needed. With an elasticated waist that nips in just at the right point, a high neck, midi-length and long sleeve, it’s the perfect winter dress. And a great price! Would look great layered with a jumper too! I’ve worn mine taking me from daytime to drinks with the girls in the evening.
OUTFIT 2 – The sparkly jumpsuit (£18) – size 14
This is one of those jumpsuits that looks sooooo much better in the flesh! I loved the festive sparkle when I spotted it online, but wasn’t sure if it’d do anything for me. Boy was I wrong! The cape sleeves are flattering and cover the tops of your arms and the tie-waist means you can nip it in as much as you like. Again, midi length, so great with a pair of strappy heals for a night out (which is how I wore it!).
The shoes are also from Matalan and are a beautiful velvet burgundy and go with almost anything! Burgundy Velvet Block Heels (£12.50).
OUTFIT 3 – Glitter wide leg trouser (£16) size 14 & cami (£10) – size 12
These trousers are so perfect for the festive party season, stretchy, shimmery and boot-leg. They’re not perfect on my shape, so these are being passed-on to a friend who I know will look amazing in them! But I love this winter look with a simple cami and strappy heals and a perhaps a suit jacket to hit cocktail hour.
OUTFIT 4 – Skinny jeans (£18) – size 14 & Sheer spotty top (£14) – size 12
Who doesn’t love a good fitting pair of black skinny jeans? Well, these hug in all the right places and even push-up! At such a great price, they’re the perfect addition to any winter wardrobe as can be worn casually during the day, but are smart enough to be dressed-up for the evening. This winter outfit idea is teamed with my new favourite top, which has just the right amount of ruffles, a high neck and long sleeve. I love this and wore mine with the cami underneath (but you could wear it with just a pretty bra if you’re going out out!).
OUTFIT 5 – MOM jeans (£16) – size 14 & Funnel neck jumper (£12.50) – size M
This combo has been worn at least a dozen times already by me! And I can’t believe the two items come in at under £30!! I get comments every time I wear the jumper, on the colour and style, it really is the ideal autumnal jumper and the perfect length to be worn out, or with a french-tuck. The jeans are what every woman needs in her wardrobe…comfy, high-waisted and just the right length. This is my go-to outfit for the school run this winter
OUTFIT 6 – Denim Boiler Suit (£25) – Size 14 & Oversized padded coat (£45) – size M
This boiler suit is going to get A LOT of wear over the years. It’s the right material and enough of a cover-up for winter, especially if you layer up, and it’s also 100% cotton, so will be great into Spring and early summer too! I can totally see me wearing this with a pretty lacy bra, rolled-up legs and some strappy heals in the summer. Then onto the oversized coat…again, I’ve worn this EVERY DAY since I received it and get so many comments at the school gates about the colour. It’s such a great length as keeps the legs warm and is a firm favourite – again, a bit of a steal!
My Winter Fashion Accessories
The way I shop has changed this year, which you may have gathered if you’ve been following my blog or insta. I’m so proud of myself for actually piecing together these winter looks from head to toe. In the past, I would have seen an item I liked and just bought it, without any thought on what I’d wear it with, multiple looks with one item etc. But now, I really consider what I have in my wardrobe, how I can layer it, can I wear it from day to night etc.
