Mother’s Day Roast at Artisan Manchester
I’ve not disguised that I had a tough end to the week this week. Whether it’s pregnancy hormones, work worries or exhaustion I don’t know, but my mood dipped low and I wasn’t feeling great.
What I really needed was some quality time with my family and Mother’s Day couldn’t have come at a better time, as that’s exactly what I got today! Quality, family, time. Centred round a family roast at Artisan Manchester, we did our favourite things – ate, laughed and shopped!…
Mother’s Day Morning in Bed
It’s rare these days to get a lie-in, let alone a whole morning lazing around in bed. So I made the most of being treated like a queen, wrapped up in my Christy personalised bathrobe* (with “Mum” on it, how cute!), eating pain au chocolat and catching-up on my social media (I can’t help myself!).
I got some proper cuddles and squeezes from the little lady, who relished being allowed to eat her breakfast in bed too, whilst watching cartoons and the hubby looked after us both all morning. Absolute bliss.
Donning my Oliver Bonas Dungaree Frill Dress (not maternity, but it fit! and it’s £20 in the sale!), we set off for our roast at Artisan Manchester, which we’d be looking forward to all week.
Roast at Artisan Manchester
We had a blast at Artisan Manchester (which is in Spinningfields) and really enjoyed our roast dinner, which came with all the trimmings and plenty of gravy (always a winner in my books!). At £9.95 per person, it comes as a sharing board between two, which is a really nice way to eat. The little lady enjoyed a hot dog and fries from their kids menu and dipped into our roast too.
We then topped it all off with a gorgeous dessert – the lemon tart for him and the chocolate and hazelnut brownie for us (which came warm and gooey and perfectly delicious!).
I wasn’t jealous (much) that the hubby washed his down with a crisp glass of Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc because I had the most amazing mocktail (in fact I had two) – the Peach Cooler (well worth ordering if you’re not drinking).
Our only minor comment was that we ordered the beef roast and it was a tad overdone for us, but being pregnant that was no bad thing and we’ll just make sure we ask for it nice and pink next time. The rest was perfectly lovely and good value for money. What’s more, Artisan is super welcoming to families and the little lady loved running around, laughing with the staff and we even made the most of their photobooth. So certainly a family-friendly restaurant but with the foodie vibe we love.
So the perfect end to an up and down week and it’s made me realise I need to slow down, concentrate on the last few weeks of my pregnancy and just relish the time I have with my husband and daughter.
