Maternity Photoshoot in the Woods
So with my little girl turning one this week, I’ve been totes emosh (!) and reminiscing a lot about the whole experience of motherhood so far.
It’s staggering to think that it’s over a year ago now that I was pregnant, carrying her inside me and that she’s been around longer now than I carried her around for. Mind-blowing.
I’m so glad that when I was pregnant, I took the opportunity to have a maternity photoshoot and to document the whole process as much as possible. I think it’s so easy to forget these moments and I know already, I struggle to remember what it felt like to be pregnant and have that ever-so-special bump.Â
So one Sunday, at around 7 months pregnant, I dragged my always-reluctant-to-have-his-photo-taken hubby for lunch with our friends Vic and Carl. Now Carl just happens to be an awesome photographer and as the sun was shining, we took the opportunity to dart off into the nearby woods for a quick maternity photoshoot. Now Carl doesn’t usually do this sort of photography, but I think you’ll agree, the photos are stunning (regardless of the models!).
I haven’t looked at these photos since then and when I flicked through them this week, I was filled with such emotion and I’m so happy to have these photos to treasure and to one day show my little daughter.
So if you’re pregnant and are debating whether to have a maternity photoshoot, then I’d say go for it! It’s so worth it as you’ll have the photos to look back at forever and unfortunately even our strongest memories fade.
So here they are…
Wow, what a trip down memory lane.
What life milestones have you had photographed?
