Dress of the week – a Summer Wedding
I love a good dress. Nothing feels better then when you have an excuse to wear a dress, and I’ve got a few in the wardrobe I can tell you! So I’ve decided to start a little mini feature here on HollyGoesLightly, naming my dress of the week.
It’ll be a combination of dresses I already own, dresses I’d like to own and dresses being worn in a way that I like (by other people – famous and friends!). Equally, if you’d like to be on Dress of the Week, then please email me a photo of you in your dress, along with details of where it’s from and what your accessories are (if any).
So to kick this feature off, is a dress I wore this weekend to the perfect English wedding on Summer Solstice. The sun was shining and we’d been invited for champagne and desserts on the lawn at Lemore Manor (which, by the way, is the perfect venue for a Summer Wedding).
I wanted something summery, floaty, but still enough cover-up and formal enough for a wedding.
I chose this dress from Primark, as it is below-the-knee-length and the petticoat gives it a floaty, 50s feel that I love. I bought it last year, so sadly won’t be in the shops any more, but have never worn it. There just never seemed to be the right occasion…until this weekend.
I’m loving their ‘White on White’ style-inspiration at the moment. So check it out for something similar.
I teamed the dress with a little grey cardy (also from Primark) and a coral hand-bag from TK Maxx, to clash with and compliment the mint green pattern on the dress. And of course some oversized sunglasses as the sun well and truly had his hat on.
This dress was super comfy and I got lots of compliments on it at the wedding (please note: I wore it with a pair of strappy wedges to dress it up a bit).
What dresses are you wearing this Summer?
