Crazy For You Tour Manchester – A must see!

If you follow me on instagram, you may know I’ve been a bit quiet lately due to a cold, sickness bug and exhaustion being pregnant with a toddler that doesn’t sleep! (Oh the joys!). So it’s been a rough couple of weeks. But the total highlight of this last fortnight and luckily, something I was well enough for, was going along to the Manchester Opera House to see the Crazy For You Tour Manchester….

Crazy For You Tour Manchester

I’m sad to say that I don’t get to the theatre enough these days, I used to go lots in London, but when I do, I LOVE it! And Manchester is such a great place to see the arts as the venues are fabulous, often smaller and more intimate and it’s not as tough to get tickets as it can be in London!

Manchester Opera House is a great venue – a traditional theatre that opened in 1912 and still holds it’s original grandeur today. I think there’s no better way to see a performance than in the grand, old theatres – you know the ones with velvet folding seats and golden detail around the stage, chandeliers and boxes.

The Love of Musicals

I absolutely love musicals, song and dance, particularly those from the early 20th Century – Gershwin, MGM and all that jazz!

So when I heard that the Crazy For You Tour was coming to Manchester, I was so excited and doubly so when I saw the cast! Tom Chambers, actor and winner of Strictly Come Dancing and now fully-fledged musical performer was the lead! And he really didn’t disappoint! He’s such a natural dancer and his love of the art just shines through.

I’d seen him before in a production of Top Hat, so knew I’d be in for a good show…

Charlotte Wakefield, was the leading lady, Polly and stole the show – she was absolutely amazing, her voice!

The supporting cast deserve a shout-out too, as they not only sang and danced their way through 2.5 hours of performance, they also played their instruments live on stage! It was so clever and the live brass and orchestra really made the show.

Head along to the Crazy For You Tour Manchester

It’s only in town for a couple of days before it heads off to its next destination and tickets start at £14.50! (Total bargain!). Plus with only c. 1200 seats in the theatre, you’re set for a good seat! We were in row L of the stalls, nice and central, so perfect seats.

I’d definitely recommend it for a date night, girly night, or like me, night out with your mummy – she’s the perfect theatre date!
