A trip to the Tate Liverpool
It was a crisp Winter’s day and we all wanted to go for a day-out and a stroll. I was also dying to wear my new outfit from Bellfield Clothing, so after a bit of deliberation, we opted for Liverpool…and off we went.
We arrived before lunch and had a stroll along the water-front, looking at the boats bouncing away on the River Mersey. We also spotted the Liver birds, surveying their territory nicely.
After a mediocre lunch at The Brasco Lounge, we made our way to the Tate, to peruse the current Constellations exhibition of modern art and the Matisse in Focus room. I like wandering through the galleries, taking in the art (but I can’t pretend I really understand it all)…
Next stop was a stroll around Albert Dock, which is my favourite spot in Liverpool. I’ve visited there a few times now with hubby and there’s quite a few new additions to the eateries on the dock itself, which I’ll definitely be checking-out next time we’re in town. (Have you been to any of them – The Smugglers Cove, PANAM, Miller & Carter?).
And we finished with a quick dip into the edge of Liverpool One, but to be honest, it was way too busy and we weren’t interested in shopping, so we decided to head back home to the warmth and a large cup of hot choc.
The day was an absolute success and I was kept warm by my lovely new Parka from Bellfield Clothing (called the Ripon Jacket) and my denim dress, also from Bellfield. The Parka is currently in the sale, so snap it up quick as it’s an absolute bargain! It’s super warm, fits really well and you can nip it in at the waist with the draw-string toggles. I like the faux fur hood too, as I always get caught in the rain without an umbrella!
The denim dress is an absolute revelation for me! I don’t usually wear denim other than jeans, but I loved the simplicity and cut of this dress, so decided to give it a go. And I’m glad I did as it’s so well made, with lovely touches like the buttons and pockets (I love a dress with pockets!). The 3/4 length sleeves, nipped in waist and length of the dress make it really easy to wear and super flattering. I teamed it with a leather waist belt, black tights and Chelsea boots for a Winter look. But I would also wear this in the Spring/Summer with some flip-flops or pretty sandals. So it’s really versatile.
If you don’t know much about the brand, Bellfield Clothing is an awesome UK fashion brand for both men and women that’s been going since the 1970s and has a great selection of clothes, jackets, coats and denim. They design clothes for inspiring individuals, so I’m in good company 😉
