Victor’s in Hale – Food Lately

As with all times that I try and start my diet and fitness regime, eat healthily and cut down on booze, there has been a plethora of opportunities to eat and drink out in Manchester lately. None less than the grand opening of Victor’s in Hale and a girly work night out this last week.

I’ll tell you about the opening of Victor’s, as this is something that I’ve been excited about for a while now. The owners Karina and James (the geniuses behind Southern 11 and Neighbourhood in Spinningfields) have not disappointed with the new Cheshire edition to their stylish and seriously scrummy eateries and bars.

You’re instantly hit by style when you walk into Victor’s…the mix of a muted colour palette of creams and minks, teamed with soft furnishings and decadent finishes, make you feel miles away from Greater Manchester. Even the staff uniforms are stylish. And then there’s the menu…oh the menu! We were treated to a series of seriously delicious canapés at the launch last week, along with what felt like bottomless glasses of Prosecco.  And just this hint of culinary delight, has left me incredibly excited at the notion of a 3-course dinner there with hubby soon.

My photos don’t even begin to do the canapés justice (I’m afraid I might have to blame the Prosecco for that one), but they were like little morsels of heaven on a spoon! Lobster tacos with avocado mayonnaise…Miso marinated black cod…tuna sashimi served with kimchi…need I go on!

I will obviously be visiting Victor’s in Hale soon for a full-on dining experience and will be sure to report back…however, I had to share just this taster with you and highly recommend that if you’re from Greater Manchester, Cheshire or visiting from out of town, you need to make sure this place is on your hit-list!

Take a look at their menu online, I can’t wait to try the Softshell Crab Inari, Baked Aubergine with Honey, Pumpkin Seeds and Courgette Fritter, Cornfed Chicken breast with Asparagus and Porcini cream and of course the Truffle Ravioli.

Where new in Greater Manchester and Cheshire have you been lately?
