Burger and Lobster Manchester
Having eaten at the Soho branch in London before, I was so excited when I heard that Burger and Lobster was opening a branch in Manchester and popped my name on their mailing list straight away.
Unfortunately we missed the soft launch (gutted), as I was 38 weeks’ pregnant, but we made it out on our 1st night-out without the bubba a couple of months later. And we weren’t disappointed.
The restaurant is huge – taking over a stunning old building on King Street in Manchester (right by Jamie’s Italian). I mean it’s seriously vast! We went on a Friday night and as expected, the place was packed with happy diners wearing bibs and happily tucking into their lobster.Â
Since my hubby had a weekend in Boston without me and devoured Lobster Roll everyday, I couldn’t get away from the craving, so knew what I’d be ordering before we even sat down. But the night was our first night out together since the birth and first things first…a Prosecco cocktail! Why the hell not?!
After our cocktails arrived, we both ordered the Lobster Roll.
If you haven’t been to Burger and Lobster Manchester before (or any other branch for that matter), the experience is simple. There are 3 options and 3 options only on the menu – 1. Burger, 2. Lobster or 3. Lobster Roll. Each option comes with fries and salad and is priced at £20. They then have an extensive drinks menu and 2 options for dessert, which changes regularly.
If you’re a lobster connoisseur, you can choose a larger lobster and pay according to weight.
The Lobster Roll was SERIOUSLY delicious. Served in a sweet, buttery brioche roll that was probably the best brioche roll I’ve ever tasted (and there are a lot of them out there these days), it was crispy to crunch into and soft on the bottom – the perfect texture. This was packed full of sweet meaty white lobster meat, mixed with their signature mayo and accompanied by perfectly salty fries and a surprisingly scrummy salad.
It didn’t take long before it was devoured!
We both looked at each other and very nearly ordered another one to share, but decided to opt for desserts instead. He went for the deconstructed cheesecake option – delicious and I went for the Baileys chocolate and ice cream sundae option…seriously boozy and seriously good. A great way to finish off the meal.
You can be in and out of Burger and Lobster Manchester fairly quickly – there’s no waiting around for the food to be prepared, they’ve got a great thing going on in the kitchen (which are open by the way – so nothing to hide). Or of course you can enjoy an evening of cocktails and lobster with friends.
I’d highly recommend a visit and we’ll certainly be back again on our next “date night” (yes, that’s my life now!).
