No drinking detox

I’m not going to lie, my weight-loss and fitness regime is currently not going exactly to plan!

I’ve not managed to get into regular exercise and I’ve certainly not dropped the half a stone I had hoped I would have by now. Instead, I’ve dropped 3-4lbs and am still only doing the odd bit of exercise here and there. Grrr, I’m so frustrated with myself.

My holiday to Italy is in less than 3 weeks and I’m really not feeling great about my body and certainly don’t feel in shape. It’s totally my own fault too, which is the worst bit about it all.

So in order to try and make a grand gesture before the holiday, I’ve decided to cut out drinking until we get to Italy. I know right! Bloody difficult in this sunny weather we’ve been having of late, when all I want to do is come home and enjoy a Pimms in the garden. But I reckon the additional calories I’ve been consuming from booze (particularly wine and prosecco) lately, is not doing my weight-loss any favours whatsoever!

I’ve been calorie-counting as best I can lately and have been sticking to circa 1500 calories a day. Which should really lead to a weightloss of 1lb per week. However, I’ve been indulging at the weekends and the calories from alcohol has been pushing me well over the 2000 calorie mark without realising it. Eek! That is not conducive to weight-loss I can tell ya.

So I’m hoping that by cutting booze out of my diet for the next 19 days, I’ll not only drop a lb or 2, but I’ll feel better and detoxed.

It’s so pathetic, but I think I’m gonna find it hard. I mean it’s not like I have a drink-problem or anything, but I certainly am used to a large glass of wine (or 2) after a long day at work!

Do you have any tips? Have you de-toxed from alcohol at any point?
