Our Paper Anniversary

So this day last year, I married my best friend. And what a day it was. We had the wedding of our dreams and I still think about it almost every day (that’s not sad is it?!).

Saturday 27th April 2013, I became Mrs Holly Wood. Yes that’s right – Holly Wood! And I don’t even have a middle name, so I can legitimately answer the phone “Holly-Wood speaking”. It’s genuinely the only reason I married him 😉

If you follow my blog, you’ve probably read the post about the big NYC engagement, which was like a plot from a romantic movie and still makes me smile when I think about it. You might also know that I’m obsessed with weddings…mine, yours, everyone’s! I’ve held off from writing a post about the big day itself and I think now might be the time to reveal all…so I’m going to write a series of posts about our wedding, how we (meaning I) planned it, the choices we made and how it all came together. So stay tuned.

But for now, I just wanted to be cheesy and cringe-worthy and say that I have been a happily married woman for a year now. I married my best friend, the man that makes me smile, the man that winds me up with banter on a daily basis and the man that I am so incredibly proud of for achieving what he has this last year. I can never imagine being with anyone else and I can’t wait for all (yes ALL) our anniversaries to come. This year is the ‘Paper Anniversary’ so we’ve exchanged our paper-based pressies (more on that later). Here’s a full list of the anniversaries by the way.

I’m writing this, sat opposite hubby in the garden of our new home. We’re sipping Prosecco (did I mention I like Prosecco?!) and about to get ready for our anniversary dinner. Hint: we might be trying to re-create our honeymoon in some way…Not that way!!

More on all things wedding coming-up!

Anyone out there planning their wedding? I’d love to hear about it!
