Skirting Boards for every room

During our renovation, we totally re-skinned the house and took it back to its shell. As the house had never been modernised, we needed to re-wire, re-plumb, re-plaster…the works! So I was so gutted when I saw the original features like skirting boards and cornices not survive the epic amount of work going on. I love the character that they bring to a property, a bit of depth. I Have This Thing for Ochre

We’re in the stage of our home renovation project that’s technically the fun bit, but possibly the most confusing bit too!…the decorating and furnishing! What is engineered wood flooring?

Flooring caused so much debate, chat and worry when planning our renovation project. We love parquet flooring, but the price to have it fit was extortionate and with circa 50 squared-metres to cover, we couldn’t risk doing it ourselves (it would have taken years!). So our other options were laminate or engineered wood. So I thought I’d put this post together to talk about engineered wood flooring, in case like me, you didn’t know what it was!

For many, you can’t beat the look and feel of a genuine wooden floor, but it can be expensive and isn’t necessarily the most practical, so engineered wood flooring is a great alternative. ,

But how is engineered wood flooring so different? And what is it that’s making it so popular?
