Mother’s Day Roast at Artisan Manchester

I’ve not disguised that I had a tough end to the week this week. Whether it’s pregnancy hormones, work worries or exhaustion I don’t know, but my mood dipped low and I wasn’t feeling great.

Shrek The Musical – One of the Best Stage Musicals I’ve ever seen!

Last week, I had the pleasure of a #matedate with the lovely Fiona of Greedy Sisters, at the Palace Theatre in Manchester. We were off to see a show, that’s an adaptation of a film I absolutely love – Shrek The Musical.

There were a few of us bloggers from WeBlogNorth going along and in honesty, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect of the show. It was nice to arrive to a mixed crowd of families, young-uns and singletons, so the atmosphere was already fantastic. I’d never been to the Palace Theatre in all the years I’ve lived in Manchester. I’ve frequented it’s sister, The Opera House, but for some reason hadn’t caught a show here before.

We had a quick pre-show drink and photo in the Stage Door Bar, grabbed our Princess Fiona ears (you know, to get into the spirit of things) and made our way to our seats…Continue reading

Sky High Afternoon Tea with WeBlogNorth – 100 feet up

Being a blogger, I get invited to some pretty cool stuff, but last week’s event with Robert’s Bakery, may have to top them all! When I was invited to a Sky High Afternoon Tea, at The Etihad in Manchester, I didn’t give much thought to what that actually meant, only that it sounded awesome and involved food! I rallied some WeBloggers together and the next thing you know, we’re standing in the ‘departure lounge’ ready for our flight, and it dawns on us that we’re going to be heading-up 100 feet in the air for our afternoon tea!

Now I’m not the best with heights and I’m certainly not an adrenaline junky, so the thought of being strapped into a chair, feet dangling, 100 feet up, wasn’t the most comforting notion. But how could I not do it? Surely it’d be a once in a lifetime experience?…Continue reading
