ended up co-sleeping 3

How we ended up co-sleeping and why I’m ok with that

I’ve not written about our daughter’s sleep before on here, but over the last two years, it’s been a constant topic of discussion, thought and anxiety. It’s only in the last 6 months that I’ve become comfortable with where we’re at in terms of sleeping and have taken the pressure off of ourselves. We ended up co-sleeping and we’re ok with that. I’ll go back to the beginning…

Having a baby that doesn’t sleep through the night

So chances are you’re a parent yourself, or perhaps you’re pregnant and looking forward to the joys of parenthood. Either way, congratulations – it truly is the best thing in the world. Bloody hard, but the best thing without a doubt!

Well you may or may not know that one of the most prolific questions out there for any new mum is “is s/he sleeping through yet?”. I’ve been asked this hundreds, if not thousands of times about Flo in the last 2 years and if I’m honest, it still hits a nerve every time. A little less of a raw nerve these days, but a nerve none the less. Continue reading

Frickin’ Hell Mann Burger at Almost Famous

I’ve not written a foodie post in a while, so this one will knock your socks off! Like burgers? Like Mac n’ Cheese? Yeh I thought so! Well you will be drooling at the limited edition Frickin’ Hell Mann Burger that was recently available at Almost Famous. It was pure bliss!

Basically, the awesome household name (and sauce) Hellmann’s teamed up with the wicked burger joint Almost Famous, to bring a limited edition burger that showcased two of their delectable sauces. Obviously anything with a mac n’ cheese “skirt” is just fine by me! The hubby and I happily devoured one each (though it nearly defeated me), one lunch time last week…Continue reading

Birthday and Housewarming BBQ

If any of you follow me on insta, you’ll know it was recently my birthday (big 3-1) and our daughter’s 2nd birthday. We’ve also been renovating the house and haven’t had an official house-warming since we moved in in May. We therefore decided to combine these three celebrations into one large birthday and housewarming BBQ! And it was great!

It’s rare that I get to combine my London friends, family, Northern friends and blogger mates and last Saturday, I did just this! There was c. 50-60 people, all of whom we love, all in one place.

One of the reasons for buying and renovating this house, was so we could have the space to entertain and host parties, as we are both very sociable and love to hang out with our friends. We also need to house travelling visitors and family from down South and all over the world. So both spare bedrooms and the couch were occupied this weekend and our 6 metre bi-fold doors were used in their full glory.

After a shaky start to the day weather-wise, the sun came out just as guests started to arrive and we had the bi-folds fully open all day and evening, which really joined the indoor and outdoor spaces and gave the fabulous and spacious entertaining area we dreamed of. It really made me smile looking out and seeing everyone enjoying themselves and it has made the last 6 months of building, house-selling and money stress all worth while.

Thanks to everyone that came, for all the presents, BBQ food and booze! It was definitely a party we’ll all remember.

Love you guys! x
