A Year in Instagram 2015

Perhaps a tad late in sharing this, but it’s still January, so I think I can get away with it.

For anyone who doesn’t follow me on instagram, here’s a snapshot of the last year in photos. As you’ll see, there’s been a fair few significant changes in my life over the last year, the biggest one was giving birth to our first child. The best thing ever!

I still managed to sneak in a couple of holidays, a few outings and lots of eating and I’ll continue to do so in 2016.Continue reading

The Miraclesuit

Has anyone else booked a holiday and thought, uh oh, I don’t quite feel ready to get into that swimsuit or bikini? That was definitely how I felt in November when I popped over to Italy for a couple of weeks with the family.

Now, I wasn’t being too tough on myself as I’d given birth just 3 months prior to this getaway, but I still wanted to feel good about myself and knew I wasn’t ready for a bikini or anything too skimpy. Plus, not being summer, I wanted a swimsuit that was more of a cover-up, more demure (some might say). Continue reading

Who else needs a digital detox?

So if you’re anything like me (and I’m a bit ashamed to say this), the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning, is grab your phone and check your social media and messages. Then you get up and brush your teeth, then you probably check your Facebook. Then you have a bowl of cereal, which you eat, balancing the bowl on your lap, the spoon in one hand and your phone in the other. Then you go about your day, intermittently responding to the vibration in your pocket or handbag, tweeting about what you’re wearing, instagramming a picture of what you’re eating and texting your other half regular updates. Then you get home, Google a recipe for dinner or order a take-away via an app and have a little read through the latest posts on your blog roll. Then, if you’re feeling tired, you’ll have a bath (the perfect opportunity to flick through Twitter, taking much care and attention not to drop your phone in the water) or you’ll put your feet-up in front of the telly, watching the latest Netflix box set, with one eye on the Whatsapp alerts popping-up. Then before you know it, it’s time for bed and you climb in between those crisp, cold sheets, have one final glimpse at all your social media accounts and then pop your phone onto vibrate (so you can still hear it if a notification comes through), as you close your eyes and try to unwind before drifting off to sleep.Continue reading
