Birthday and Housewarming BBQ

If any of you follow me on insta, you’ll know it was recently my birthday (big 3-1) and our daughter’s 2nd birthday. We’ve also been renovating the house and haven’t had an official house-warming since we moved in in May. We therefore decided to combine these three celebrations into one large birthday and housewarming BBQ! And it was great!

It’s rare that I get to combine my London friends, family, Northern friends and blogger mates and last Saturday, I did just this! There was c. 50-60 people, all of whom we love, all in one place.

One of the reasons for buying and renovating this house, was so we could have the space to entertain and host parties, as we are both very sociable and love to hang out with our friends. We also need to house travelling visitors and family from down South and all over the world. So both spare bedrooms and the couch were occupied this weekend and our 6 metre bi-fold doors were used in their full glory.

After a shaky start to the day weather-wise, the sun came out just as guests started to arrive and we had the bi-folds fully open all day and evening, which really joined the indoor and outdoor spaces and gave the fabulous and spacious entertaining area we dreamed of. It really made me smile looking out and seeing everyone enjoying themselves and it has made the last 6 months of building, house-selling and money stress all worth while.

Thanks to everyone that came, for all the presents, BBQ food and booze! It was definitely a party we’ll all remember.

Love you guys! x
