30th Birthday Presents

On my 30th birthday, I was lucky enough to have lots of presents to open and where better to open them than in bed?

I snuggled into my new Sheridan ‘Beadmore’ 100% cotton duvet set…luxury…and was overwhelmed by the goodies laid before me. Everyone loves to receive a little bag like these don’t they?

Being a significant milestone, I’ve been thinking about turning 30 for a while now and wondering how I’d feel when the day arrived. And guess what? I feel bloody great! It’s been an incredible year for me, with the birth of our beautiful baby daughter, my hubby starting his own digital marketing agency and me leaving my job and deciding to go freelance. I’ve got so much to be thankful for and feel utterly blessed, so it would be silly to shy away from the big 3-0.

I can’t help but look back to my last milestone birthday, which for me was 25. I might have received a certain Tiffany box then too, but a very different one. It was a fabulous birthday and it’s amazing to think how much has changed in the last 5 years.

I’ll keep the Tiffany present to myself for now, as some things are just between a husband and wife. Needless to say, it was stunning and totally overwhelming.

But back to the bed…I got to spend the morning chilling-out in between the sheets (a rarity for me these days) and what scrumptious sheets they are. I don’t always talk about our soft furnishings on here, but these are worth a mention. The stunning King Size duvet set from Sheridan is 100% Eqyptian cotton and the floral botanical motif is simply chic. The bedding is white with a charcoal detail, which works perfectly with our slate grey bed and blue-grey walls. We like to sit and read in bed (when we get the chance), so we’ve got 2 large velvet cushions that sit behind our pillows.

You can really feel the quality in this bedding, it’s heavier due to all the amazing textures but doesn’t feel heavy when you’re tucked-up inside it as the cotton is totally breathable. We like to change our bedding regularly to give a new look to our bedroom and this Beadmore design is a fabulous addition to our collection (and I’ve just spotted it’s in the 50% off sale now, so snap it up!).
