Capturing the everyday moments – Why it’s so important

Those of you that know and/or follow me, will know how much I’m a photography obsessive and feel really passionate about capturing moments in life. I’ve always carried my camera around with me, or snap things on my phone and have invested in a decent lens for my DSLR that I love to use, so take my personal photography to the next level. I’ve also for a few years now, loved to work with photographers and have made some serious friendships along the way too. One of those being with the insanely talented Anna Hardy (who I fan-girled for ages, before making her my friend…lucky her!).

I became aware of Anna’s work as a wedding photographer as she offered that “alternative” and reportage style we both liked and was good friend’s with our wedding photographers Emma Case and Pete. When I realised she lived ‘tup North too, I knew it was inevitable that we’d meet…

Finding a New Confidence in My Body after Pregnancy

Ok so I don’t often go “deep” on here, but occasionally I have a bit of a personal revelation and I feel I should share it in case it resonates with even one other person out there in the world.

This one is about body confidence…or lack thereof…

I find it strange when people say that they think I’m confident. That they presume I’m strong and without insecurities. I take this as a compliment of course, but it’s far from the truth…in all walks of life really. But today I’m focusing on my body, my self-image, my self-confidence.

Finding out I’m pregnant the second time round

First time round, I didn’t write or post lots about my pregnancy on here or on my social media and there were two main reasons for that really – 1. I didn’t think anyone except us would be interested and the whole insta-mum thing, wasn’t really a thing, and 2. I wasn’t sure how much I wanted to share, it was our experience, we didn’t know what was ahead of us and I didn’t want to post something I’d regret further down the line. But, as Flo got older, she started to photo-bomb my insta-stories and enjoyed being in front of the camera and I was more confident in myself as a mum and a person – so it felt more natural to share that with the world. I have also grown a network of friends in “real-life”, insta-life and through blogging and I realise we all support each other with our content and there are lots of people out there that are new parents or on their road to it and need support and find comfort in hearing others’ experiences and how it really is…
