I’m hopefully days away from giving birth to our second now and this last couple of weeks has been the first time this pregnancy, I’ve been able to focus and prepare for our imminent arrival. Testing for Group Strep B with Strepelle

What is Group Strep B?

I’m no doctor and there’s no point in me trying to explain what Group Strep B is, when there’s far more legitimate and expert resources online like this one from the NHS, that’ll tell you all about it. But in essence, it’s a bacteria that can be carried by a woman, in their rectum or vagina and often not cause an issue, but can do when you’re pregnant and if it’s transferred to the baby during birth. Although risks are low, they are there and can be serious and potentially fatal for the baby. Continue reading

UK Family Travel – The Bull and Swan, Stamford – Part 1

Over the Easter Weekend we had a much needed family break, staying at The Bull and Swan, Stamford. The hotel invited us to come and stay for a night, sample their food and enjoy their garden restaurant and outdoor cinema. So who were we to turn down an offer like that?!

The weather was pretty lousy, but this took nothing away from the beautiful town and the hospitality and welcome that we received from The Bull and Swan, Stamford. James, the General Manager and all the staff there were so friendly and with a toddler in tow, we instantly felt at ease and relaxed.Continue reading
